The Grammy winners Evanescence return to the Czech Republic at the end of the summer! Fans can look forward to their biggest hits like My Immortal, Bring Me To Life or Everybody’s Fool. Songs from the latest album Synthesis, released at the end of 2017 will be included as well.
Amy Lee, a charismatic singer, and pianist founded Evanescence at Little Rock, Arkansas in the mid-1990s, along with the guitarist Ben Moody. They met at the Scout Camp as teenagers, where Amy sang and played the piano, and her version of Meat Loaf’s hit ‘I’d Do Anything For Love’ impressed Moody and he then talked Amy into setting up the band. At first, it was not easy with their style that is absorbing various musical influences. The American Midwest of that time belonged to completely different genres – the young was fascinated by death metal and the older generation enjoyed much softer music. After a few EPs and the first regular demo CD – Origin between 2001 and 2003, they made the breaking album Fallen.
Feeling the balance between a delicate beauty and natural rock hardness, and also the hit Bring Me To Life has brought the band worldwide popularity. Fallen, which sold 17 million copies, earned five Grammy nominations in 2004 and two of them turned into gold gramophone trophy – Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance. Under the direction of Amy Lee, the band coped with numerous changes, including Ben Moody’s departure, or creative and concert pauses. She has released a DVD and CD compilation of Anywhere but Home (2004), The Open Door (2006) and Evanescence (2011), where Amy Lee, who also has a solo career, says “she fell in love with Evanescence again”. In 2017, they expanded their discography by making album Synthesis.
